Shorewood board approves personnel-monitoring report, establishes short-term policy committee

Director Heatherlund presented the OE-4 monitoring report, reporting the district's work to consolidate employee handbooks, conduct stay interviews and monitor hiring and retention. "We're fully compliant with all required background checks for employees and volunteers," Director Heatherlund said, and she reported that 100% of new hires met certification requirements or had applications pending. Heatherlund also outlined gaps in racial representation between staff and students and recommended eliminating a biological-sex indicator from the metrics because it does not align with hiring practices.
