Presenters explained different counting methodologies between Shorewood Intermediate School and Shorewood High School — for example, clubs at SIS are run in rotating quarters and are not rostered the same way high‑school clubs are, so some participation data are captured differently and may appear larger or smaller depending on the dataset.
Board members pressed for specificity about where 8.6 data reside; presenters said student participation metrics live in the student results report and would be reflected in the winter R2 report where metrics are tracked. Members also asked about indicator 8.4 (access to safe and nutritious food across the school day). Administration confirmed federal nutrition guidelines and the district’s food service contract (Aramark) provide free fruit and breakfast options and that Director Harter will convene a wellness committee before the end of the school year to meet triennial reporting expectations.
