Mayor Tamela Takahashi announced a study session for Tuesday, April 21 from 5–6 p.m. on housing topics including the Burbank Housing Corporation activity centers, Master Loan Agreement Phase 2 and The Village, and outlined a 6 p.m. City Council meeting with a public hearing on a Burbank–Glendale boundary, a solid-waste enrollment ordinance, Hillside fence regulations and a wireless policy update.
Mayor Tamela Takahashi used the weekly Mayor’s Minute to preview a study session and the City Council’s agenda for Tuesday, April 21. The study session is scheduled for 5–6 p.m. and the regular council meeting will follow at 6 p.m., Takahashi said.
Takahashi said the study session will review the Burbank Housing Corporation’s activity centers, consider proposed updates to the Master Loan Agreement Phase 2, and provide an update on an affordable housing development known as The Village. “On Tuesday, April 21, we will hold a study session from 5 to 6PM ahead of the council meeting to review the Burbank Housing Corporation's activity centers, propose updates to the Master Loan Agreement Phase 2, and receive an update on the affordable housing development known as The Village,” Takahashi said.
At 6 p.m., Takahashi said the council will take up four agenda items. The first is a public hearing on a boundary issue affecting homes along the Burbank and Glendale border. The agenda also includes an ordinance to update solid-waste rules so that all properties are enrolled in trash, recycling and organic services, review of Hillside neighborhood fence regulations, and an update on wireless facility policies aimed at balancing community feedback with federal requirements.
Takahashi directed residents to the city’s website for the full agenda and staff reports and listed remote viewing options: Spectrum channel 6, AT&T channel 99 and the City’s YouTube page. “View the full agenda and staff reports at the City website. If you can't attend in person, tune in on Spectrum channel 6, AT and T channel 99, or the City's YouTube page,” she said. (Transcript spelling corrected to standard stylization: AT&T.)
The study session and council meeting are opportunities for public comment and for council members to request additional information; Takahashi’s announcement did not include details on staff recommendations, ordinance language, or whether any items will require follow-up votes or referrals. Residents seeking details on proposed code or ordinance language should consult the staff reports posted with the agenda.
The study session is set for 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 21 followed by the regular City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Residents can review materials and watch the meeting using the channels Takahashi listed.
