"She modeled what thoughtful leadership looks like... and she leaves us in a strong position for growth," Wicks said as the board honored outgoing members and acknowledged the superintendent's tenure. Board members Katie Lee and Cresta Brinkman were also recognized for their service.
Following the recognitions, Carol Sehnert, chair of the District Accountability Committee, summarized the DAC's Oct. 29 meeting, citing Colorado Revised Statute 22‑11‑302 as the committee's statutory framework and providing high‑level school summaries on enrollment, unified improvement plan focuses, and family engagement efforts across district schools. Sehnert noted strengths such as steady budgets, improvements in reading and AP access at Steamboat High School, and attention to chronic absenteeism at Yampa Valley High School.
The board applauded the superintendent and principals for their work. No personnel actions were taken at the meeting; the board proceeded to other agenda items and scheduled future meetings.
