Hermitage board approves personnel changes, adopts multiple policy revisions and OKs student activities and booster club

The Hermitage School District Board unanimously approved personnel changes, adopted revisions to multiple board policies (006, 204, 218.1, 610, 611, 626 series, 805 series), approved several agreements, accepted student activity requests and approved the HSD Lacrosse Booster Club before adjourning.
At its Feb. 16 regular meeting the Hermitage School District Board approved personnel changes, adopted multiple revised policies, approved several district agreements and accepted student activity requests and a booster club for the 2025–26 school year.
Director Mrs. Perman presented the personnel report; on motion by Mrs. Perman and seconded by Mrs. Nicastro the board approved the attached list of personnel changes and additions. That motion passed unanimously.
The board then considered revisions to board policies that had been reviewed since the Jan. 20 meeting. On motion by Mrs. Becker and seconded by Ms. Tomko the board approved revisions to Policy Nos. 006 (Meetings), 204 (Attendance), 218.1 (Weapons), 610 and 611 (purchasing), a set of 626 attachments related to procurement/administration of federal funds, and Policies 805, 805.1 and 805.2 addressing emergency preparedness, relations with law enforcement, and school security personnel. The motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
The board also approved several agreements, including online driver training with Mancino's Driving School; Resolution 2026‑2 (PDE electronic signature for the superintendent); a GASB 75 valuation and related services agreement with Pennsylvania Trust; and a letter of affiliation with Paoletta Counseling Services. Each agreement was approved by unanimous vote as recorded in the minutes.
Student activities for 2025–26 were approved on a motion by Mr. Ruffo, seconded by Ms. Tomko. The board also approved the HSD Booster Club’s lacrosse program for the 2025–26 school year on a motion by Mr. Ruffo, seconded by Mrs. Becker. The meeting adjourned at approximately 6:15 PM; minutes were submitted by Board Secretary Barbara Knauff.
