The Beaver Area School District Board of School Directors elected Robin Thompson president on Dec. 2, 2025, after a roll call vote that gave Thompson seven votes to Karin M. Pilarski’s two.
Nominations opened for the presidency at the school board’s organization meeting. Aaron Bovalino nominated Robin Thompson, and Merilu Hill nominated Karin M. Pilarski. The roll call vote recorded seven votes for Thompson (Luke Berardelli, Aaron Bovalino, Robin Thompson, Denise Yates, Victoria Bartholomew, Michael Litchfield, Steven Neeley) and two for Pilarski (Merilu Hill, Karin M. Pilarski). With a 7–2 majority, Thompson was elected President of the Board of Directors for the Beaver Area School District.
Earlier in the meeting the board appointed Solicitor Askar to serve as temporary Board President. That motion was made by Merilu Hill, seconded by Robin Thompson, and carried by the directors present.
The meeting also included administration of the oath of office to newly elected and re-elected directors. Mr. Askar acknowledged the Nov. 4, 2025 election results and introduced the Hon. Judge Mitchell P. Shahen, who administered the oath to Aaron Bovalino, Michael Litchfield, Steven Neeley Jr., and Karin M. Pilarski. The oath included a pledge to support the U.S. Constitution and the Constitution of the Commonwealth.
For vice president, Aaron Bovalino nominated Victoria Bartholomew. With no other nominations, the Solicitor declared Bartholomew elected Vice President.
The incoming president offered no remarks. The organization meeting was adjourned at 6:29 PM on a motion by Merilu Hill, seconded by Denise Yates; the motion carried.
