Board highlights student achievements at state meets and competitions
Summary
Superintendent and board members recognized students and coaches for recent accomplishments including state indoor track qualifiers, Inventionland winners and athletic milestones; no awards requiring board action were recorded in the minutes.
At the March 2 work session the board spent part of its "moment for mission" recognizing student and coach accomplishments.
Dr. Weaver highlighted district students who placed at the State Indoor Track Meet and winners of the Inventionland competition. Mr. Thomas congratulated an 8U YMCA girls swim team for a district championship; Mrs. Hazy Bishop recognized high school swimmers who qualified for states; Mr. Abplanalp noted five district wrestlers qualified for state competition—the most in district history—and Dr. Weaver congratulated Coach Phipps for being named the District 10 Wrestling Coach of the Year for the second consecutive year.
