Superintendent announces two upcoming retirements and board thanks longtime business manager

Superintendent Dr. Alfonso Angelucci used the Feb. 23 meeting to announce two upcoming retirements and to recognize long service from a district official.
Dr. Angelucci announced that Marjorie Opp, a paraprofessional aide at Slippery Rock Area Elementary, will retire effective June 30, 2026, and that Diane Snyder, the assistant business manager, will retire effective Dec. 31, 2026. The superintendent publicly thanked Business Manager Paul Cessar for 36 years of service to the district; the minutes record that the board presented Cessar with a Letterman jacket, a plaque and a card.
Student representative Seamus McCauley Rodgers also delivered a brief report on school operations, noting generally positive observations. Assistant Superintendent Dr. Susan Miller had no report; Secretary Paul Cessar thanked board, staff and family for support.
