The Calhoun County Board authorized the Prosecutor to hire John Puzzuoli to fill a vacant Assistant Prosecuting Attorney position at above the start salary level and approved a budget amendment of approximately $3,000 to the Prosecutor’s FY2005 budget to cover the difference.
Prosecutor John Hallacy explained the position being filled had previously been at the top of the salary scale and that the vacancy had been open since Jan. 21, producing budget savings. He said funds to cover the difference would be transferred from office supplies. Comr. Segal asked how long the position had been vacant; Hallacy replied it had been open since January 21. The motion (Res. 58-2005) passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
Hallacy also confirmed the new hire would not join the cold case team, which still has two assistants assigned.
