Scopel also reported the Narrows project is at 30% design and staff plan to begin construction in the third quarter of 2026. No contract or funding details were provided in the minutes; staff presented the design milestone and an expected construction window.
Parks Division Manager Eric Bloomer noted recent maintenance: the gazebo at Glenmere Park was painted and new handrails installed. Staff reminded the board of community events: Wreaths Across America at Linn Grove Cemetery on Dec. 13 and a neighborhood luminary lighting on Christmas Eve that lights roughly 400 luminaries. The minutes also recorded a community stargazing night at Arroyos del Sol held in partnership with the Northern Colorado Astronomical Society with more than 50 families participating.
Next steps: staff will continue planning prescribed burns with partners, refine Narrows project design and report back to the board as the project moves toward construction.
