Golf manager reports membership growth, app rollout and clubhouse upgrades

During the Jan. 8 meeting Chris Colling, Greeley’s golf manager, provided a staff report covering rounds played, technology changes, facility work and staffing.

Colling reported 2025 totals of 41,565 rounds at Highland and 44,712 at Boomerang (Boomerang up roughly 7,500 rounds from 2024). He said Member Sports went live Dec. 2, 2025, moving most services to electronic format; the punch-card system remains an exception though balances will display in the app. When a board member showed a physical punch card obtained at Boomerang, Colling said staff would investigate why a paper card was issued.

Colling said the app is called “The Caddie.” He said gift certificates and tournament winnings will now be loaded into the app. On the no-show policy, Colling said the department is implementing a tiered system; a no-show marked in the tee sheet will trigger an email notification, and the department aims to avoid chargebacks.

On facilities, Colling said Highland clubhouse renovations include roughly $80,000 for new flooring, granite kitchen tile, luxury vinyl tile and upgraded lighting. At Boomerang temporary signs and plantings (spruces) are planned to protect a building from errant balls, and roughly 12 trees at Highland will be removed (none in the fairway). Colling said the front 9 closures at Boomerang relate to CIP-funded irrigation work and the pumphouse is a Water & Sewer project.

Colling said Alexa Schubin will continue serving as a board liaison until further notice but the department is seeking a part-time administrative assistant and Alexa will not continue providing administrative assistance for golf on an ongoing basis.
