Greeley Parks and Recreation staff reported March 6 that youth and adult programs are preparing for a busy spring season and outlined several near-term facility projects.
Recreation Manager Becca Mack said spring youth registrations include about 820 soccer participants, 433 in flag football, 91 in tennis programs and 42 clinic enrollments; adult spring leagues show 134 teams registered. Mack also highlighted the Active Adult Center open house, expanded international travel trips planned for 2027, and the Rodarte Community Center Rising Mentorship Program funded through an NRPA grant. She noted building projects including a sound wall and front-desk remodel.
Parks Manager Jon Anaya said crews will install a new 7-foot chain-link fence with privacy slats at Kiwanis Park, expected to be completed by March 27. He reported the Greeley/Evans Youth League has begun play at Butch Butler and Forbes Field, Rush soccer is using Monfort Park, and the Greeley Greys have started practices. City-run spring recreation leagues are scheduled to begin March 23.
Board members received the updates; no formal policy decisions or budget actions were taken on these items during the meeting.
