City staff updated the Citizen Transportation Advisory Board on federal grant projects on Feb. 23, saying the SS4A project’s National Environmental Policy Act review is complete and returned with no comments.
Steven Younkin told the board that administrative steps remain but that the project could move to grant authorization in two to three weeks; staff indicated construction could begin as early as late summer if authorization proceeds. Younkin also said proposed parking removals in the project area will be a major focus of upcoming public outreach.
Younkin further reported that the Merge project remains pending federal grant clearance; early NEPA work and public outreach have started while the project awaits final federal approval. No binding dates or funding totals were given in the minutes.
