The scope discussed includes curb, gutter, sidewalk and storm drain work, and could include full pavement replacement curb‑to‑curb where necessary.
Councilmembers debated design details (whether sidewalks would be on both sides) and the potential for tying this work to school‑safety improvements. One council member said connecting projects to schools can increase grant competitiveness; staff said final design and a storm‑water study remain to be completed.
The council approved a motion authorizing the city to commit up to $140,000 toward the Alberta Street TAP project; members noted the local share would be paid incrementally as construction progresses rather than as a single upfront payment.
