Altoona council approves plat for High Pointe Church and multiple construction pay applications

The Altoona City Council on Sept. 5 approved a plat of survey consolidating three parcels into a single 5.63-acre parcel (Parcel #2023-116) for High Pointe Church and accepted a site plan submission to Planning & Zoning.
John Shaw, Community Development, said High Pointe Church is combining three parcels into one 5.63-acre parcel and has submitted a site plan to the Planning & Zoning department. The council approved a resolution to accept the plat by roll call (5-0).
The council also approved the consent agenda, which included multiple construction pay applications and change orders: Change Order #2 for Absolute Concrete Construction (1st Avenue Reconstruction – Phase III) for $44,566.67; Change Order #6 for Veenstra & Kimm, Inc. (Muchikinock Creek Trunk Sewer – Phase I) for $23,760.00; Change Order #2 for AVR Excavating Inc. (Spring Creek South Pond Bank Stabilization 2023) for -$25,445.00; pay applications including $409,524.83 to Absolute Concrete Construction (1st Avenue Reconstruction – Phase III), $287,633.51 to Graff Excavating (Muchikinock Creek Trunk Sewer – Phase I), $93,062.00 to Landmark Structures (North Water Tower), and $12,777.50 to AVR Excavating (Spring Creek Park South Pond Bank Stabilization Project 2023). The consent agenda also included authorizations for testing services, intergovernmental agreements for a mobile ventilation unit with neighboring cities, a fiber-optic professional services agreement, event permits, and the population count for a voluntary annexation.
The consent agenda passed by roll call vote (5-0). Department heads then provided brief reports, and the council adjourned at 6:48 p.m.
