E-bike operator urges better public education on trail rules; Congresswoman's office details casework numbers

He said that while he was operating a legal Class 2 e-bike tour, he and his clients were confronted by others who believed e-bikes were not permitted. Figueroa emphasized the need for improved public education about e-bike laws and safety, said his company offers free public safety courses including bikes and safety gear, and expressed interest in partnering with the District on future safety programs.
Annette Budd, representing Congresswoman Boebert's office, provided a legislative and casework update. Budd reported the office opened 931 casework requests in the past year and closed 815, and said the office returned more than $5 million to constituents through federal agencies including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Social Security, and the Internal Revenue Service. She encouraged residents who are experiencing difficulties with federal agencies to submit a casework request through the Congresswoman's website.
Neither comment resulted in action at the study session; both were recorded as public-comment items on the agenda.
