District staff seek $300,000 appropriation for Dad Clark Gulch channel stabilization project

Project Engineer John Donakowski asked the board to appropriate $300,000 from the Stormwater Fund and to amend an IGA with Mile High Flood District for a $600,000 construction package to stabilize roughly 3,000 linear feet of channel to reduce sediment and protect downstream water-quality infrastructure; the item was placed on the Jan. 27 consent agenda with no objections.
Project Engineer John Donakowski presented the Dad Clark Gulch 5.0W channel stabilization project and requested a $300,000 appropriation from the District Stormwater Fund and authorization to amend an intergovernmental agreement with Mile High Flood District for a $600,000 construction package.
Donakowski described the work as approximately 3,000 linear feet of channel restoration intended to reduce sediment movement and protect downstream water-quality facilities. He said current site conditions make the project timely and necessary and that no structures or pathways are presently threatened.
The Chair asked if any board member objected to placing the item on the Jan. 27 consent agenda; none objected. Board members asked questions of staff about the project, which staff answered during the study session.
The item will return for formal consideration on the Jan. 27 consent agenda with the staff request for appropriation and IGA amendment documented for official action.
