Summary
Main Street Zionsville reported 170 businesses in the district (11 new), 1,341.75 volunteer hours, two district cleanup days, about $160,000 in public capital investment and a heritage plaques program for 22 properties during an annual report to the council.
Erica Carpenter, president of Main Street Zionsville, delivered the organization's annual report to the Town Council on April 26, marking one year since the program received its state designation.
Carpenter said the district now counts 170 businesses, including 11 new openings and three acquisitions. The organization reported 1,341.75 volunteer hours this year, two district cleanup days with 76 volunteers, eight events, and roughly $160,000 in public capital investments (with additional private building investments reported by owners). Carpenter also described partnerships with Discover Boone (a county grant), Sullivan Munce’s century-structure program to identify and plaque 22 properties at least 100 years old, and a new promotion campaign called "Charming on Purpose." She said Main Street Zionsville has separate governance and finances from the Chamber of Commerce and outlined plans to support merchants during an upcoming road realignment project.
