At the April 16 meeting the Planning Director told the Fairfax Planning Commission that the Town Council will meet to consider a roughly 10-month extension of the moratorium on formula businesses while staff updates the municipal code. The director said staff hopes to complete code work in the next six months and may return to the commission for an initial study session as early as next month.
The director also described progress on the town's bicycle and pedestrian master plan: the consultant will deliver a draft in the next couple of months, BPAC will review it, and staff expects to bring the draft to the Planning Commission in June or July. The office plans outreach at the farmers market and a second online survey as part of public involvement.
On utility- or EDU-related code changes, the director said an ordinance was introduced at council and will have a second reading in May, with an effective date 30 days after that second reading.
