Wayne County supervisors approve sealed-bid rule for potential conflicts, authorize sheriff vehicle and $220,191.85 in claims

Supervisor Chris Moore moved to approve the measure and Supervisor Todd Wilson seconded it. The resolution cites the sealed-bid provisions of the Iowa Code.
Also approved was a capital asset addition for the sheriff’s office: a 2024 Chevy Tahoe purchased from Karl Chevrolet for $49,905.20 with an estimated seven-year useful life. The motion to approve the Tahoe purchase was made by Supervisor Todd Wilson and seconded by Supervisor Chris Moore.
The board recorded and approved the day’s claims totaling $220,191.85, a list that included road materials and parts, conservation and public-health expenses, vendor services and a $56,996.06 payment to Tyler Technologies Inc. for services to the auditor’s office. Motions to approve the agenda, the June 25 minutes, July 5 payroll and the July 9 claim set were made and seconded by board members and recorded as approved.
Recorder and public-health departmental reports were also approved. The board scheduled a courthouse walk-through after the meeting and set the next regular meeting for July 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
