The Medford Area Public School District Board of Education reviewed the district’s health insurance utilization and considered non‑instructional budget elements during its March 25 meeting.
District Administrator Pat Sullivan reported the district’s health insurance utilization rate is at 105 percent; the board indicated it will continue examining plan options. Audra Brooks presented the non‑instructional budget (support areas) as part of a broader budget study; the board considered these figures and scheduled further deliberation in upcoming finance work. The finance committee recommended approval of a Bauernfeind proposal, and the board carried that motion.
The meeting record shows some certified staff requests were deferred to the April finance and board meeting for additional consideration. The board discussed whether to adjourn to closed session for administrator employment matters under Wisconsin statutes but determined a closed session was not necessary.
