"In this first quarter, we distributed 46 leads... and we booked 5,900 room nights for a total impact for that first quarter of 5,600,000," said Jean Minster, representing the bureau, summing the bureau’s KPI metrics and explaining the methodology used to estimate economic impact by event type.
The bureau also described its targeted site for meeting and event planners (meetlakegeorge.com), event pipeline activity and engagement at trade shows. Officials noted the bureau tracks leads, bookings and event‑specific attendee counts to calculate direct economic effects and reported a robust funnel of pending events and custom microsites to support future bookings.
Committee members thanked the bureau for the report and asked staff to continue coordinating analytics across tourism units to align timing and reporting conventions.
