The Hackettstown Board of Education on March 18 approved personnel actions including resignations, new hires, leaves and temporary teaching assignments.
Resignations accepted included Bryce McClain (flag-football assistant coach), Kelly Brenner (instructional technology coordinator), and Prathibha Pasupuleti (aide). The board approved new hires including Logan Turcato (part-time grounds, $18/hour, effective March 23), Luis Best (full-time night custodian, Step 1 $51,097 pro-rated, effective March 23) and a maternity-leave substitute for the high school, Michael Brennan (BA, Step 1, pro-rated), pending clearances.
The board approved advancement on the salary guide effective Feb. 1, 2026, for Brittany Bird (from BA Step 9 $75,935 to BA+15 Step 9 $78,435) and Adam Freeman (from MA Step 20 $99,935 to MA+30 Step 20 $102,435). Several leaves of absence and substitute assignments were approved; the minutes include dates, though some leave-date entries in the record appear inconsistent and were noted in the meeting audit (see clarifying details).
The board also approved additional high-school 7th-block teaching assignments with stipends for spring terms and summer leave-replacement and pro-rated positions, as listed in the minutes, as well as mentor/mentee pairings, revised ESEA Title IV appointments, clinical internships and spring athletic appointments.
All personnel items were approved on the Superintendent’s recommendation and recorded by roll-call vote as part of the consent slate.
