Summary
Parks and Recreation reported a garden event May 9, a farmers market launching the first Tuesday in June and asked for vendors; council members also announced upcoming Public Works, Public Safety and Planning Commission meetings.
Parks and Recreation officials told the council April 20 that the group's next meeting is April 30 at 6 p.m., and they announced two community events: a garden event on May 9 and a farmers market running the first Tuesday of each month from June through October in front of City Hall. Organizers said about 10 vendors had expressed interest so far, with food trucks and music planned; a few vendor insurance forms were still outstanding.
Council members also reported other committee dates: Public Works will meet June 2 at 6 p.m., Public Safety will meet June 4 at 6 p.m. at City Hall, and the Planning Commission — canceled at the previous session for lack of items — is scheduled for 7 p.m. on May 11 at City Hall.
Additionally, council member Tim Conrad reminded the public that the city car show is May 6 with official hours from 4 p.m. until dusk and asked attendees not to arrive before 3 p.m. to allow organizers to finish setup.
Organizers encouraged potential vendors to sign up on the city's website and said Parks and Rec staff have been working to finalize logistics and paperwork.
