Administration outlines FY27 priorities; intern position and IT infrastructure to return in March

Alma, the assistant city administrator, presented the administration department’s FY27 work plan to the council on Feb. 9 and said the department will bring two decision packages to the March budget workshop: a server/array infrastructure request and a part‑time internship position.

Alma reported that 592 accounts had been created in the city’s Citi app since its public launch in August 2025 and that staff had received 624 service requests through the app. “592 accounts have been created in the Citi app since its public launch in August 2025. The administration presentation also noted technology and communication improvements, a facilities and space needs study, an employee engagement survey (results to be presented by HR generalist Juan Ortiz in March) and a new onboarding document for volunteer commissioners. Alma said the internship would be part time, aligned with university semesters, and that staff do not intend to offer benefits beyond legally required paid leave; details and exact intern budgetary structure will be included in the March decision package.

Alma announced the city intends to present an amended waste franchise agreement with Groot to the council in March and previewed a security camera expansion that would add cameras at City Hall, the trailhead, the Warren Tavern and the Mercantile buildings.
