The Beaver Area School District board on Nov. 18, 2013 accepted revised Treasurer’s Reports for August–October 2013 and authorized payment of multiple invoice lists. Notable totals recorded in the minutes include a General Fund list dated Oct. 31, 2013 for $1,830,876.15 and a Cafeteria Fund list dated Nov. 18, 2013 for $79,990.17.
The board also unanimously approved renewal of several insurance policies. The primary property, general liability, automotive, band and boiler coverage with Indemnity Insurance Company of North America/ACE/PSBA was renewed for Dec. 5, 2013–Dec. 5, 2014 at $83,838 (the prior year was $74,200). The board approved School Leaders Excess Liability Insurance to $2,000,000 with Swett & Crawford for $3,031 (prior year $2,755).
Mr. Woodske moved to approve the minutes and payment lists; Mr. Bovalino seconded the motion that the board approved unanimously. Mr. Matthews moved acceptance of the Treasurer’s Reports; Mr. Woodske seconded. Insurance renewals were moved by Mr. Matthews and seconded by Mr. Bovalino and voted unanimously.
The minutes do not include a line-item budget analysis of how the insurance premium increases will be absorbed; the Treasurer’s Reports were filed at the Business Office. The board did not vote on any tax or appropriations change at this meeting.
