The administrator said the road in question is under IDOT jurisdiction and that village staff have requested additional pavement markings and signage. "They just after...they adjusted the timing on the traffic lights located through Justice to the east of us in hopes that...we would see less traffic backup," the administrator said, while noting village authority to change the state roadway is limited.
The administrator estimated the project work could span about two years. The board and staff urged continued coordination with IDOT and recommended pursuing additional signage and pavement-marking requests to reduce unsafe movements into the village.
No action was taken at the meeting; staff will continue to follow up with IDOT and report progress to the board.
