The Village of Willow Springs Board approved a contract to install a new roofing system at the Willow Springs Community Center for $44,031.
Staff explained there was not a formal competitive bid process because of the small size of the job; three contractors were asked and one proposal was received. The scope includes removal of two flat-roof areas, redirecting drainage and installation of a single-piece membrane. Staff said engineers reviewed quantities and costs and found the proposal in line with expectations for a small roofing project.
Board members asked how many bids were solicited; staff confirmed three were requested and one was received. The president pro tem said funding for the project had been authorized previously via a resolution earlier in the year.
The motion to approve was moved and seconded; the clerk called the roll and the board approved the contract by recorded vote. Staff will schedule the replacement and coordinate work to minimize disruption to community-center programming.
