Burr Ridge sets Oct. 31 deadline for village‑hall offers and prioritizes CNH sub‑area plan

At its Oct. 13 meeting the Burr Ridge board set an October 31 deadline for receipt of offers to purchase the former village hall and asked that offers be submitted as purchase‑and‑sale agreements rather than letters of intent. Staff said PSAs provide clearer, legally binding terms for board review; the board signaled support for the cutoff and the approach to separate serious bidders from preliminary interest.
Village staff also asked the board to direct the Comprehensive Plan Update Committee to prioritize a master plan for the CNH sub‑area (the 115‑acre property at 6900 Veterans Boulevard). Staff said the same consultant hired for the larger comprehensive plan update will prepare the CNH sub‑area plan, which will include traffic analysis, use types and public‑engagement steps. Staff noted the CNH property owner supports a sub‑area planning approach.
Trustees approved both directions by unanimous vote. Staff said the sub‑area plan will be subject to public engagement, Plan Commission review and final board adoption once completed.
What’s next: Offers for the village hall are to be received by Oct. 31 and staff will return recommended PSA terms and a November 10 board agenda item for final consideration; the CNH sub‑area plan will be prioritized in the comprehensive plan update process and follow a multi‑step public review.
