Library leaders introduced; Board reappoints members to county boards

Joan Sherif, from Northwestern Regional Public Library, briefed the Board on library operations and budget needs and introduced Emily Morgan as the new Branch Library Manager for the Charles H. Stone Memorial Library in Pilot Mountain and Cindy Brannock as the Dobson Branch Library Manager.
The Board recognized participants in the 2025 Senior Games. Administrative Officer Andrew Wright reported two board/committee members with expiring terms were willing to serve; the Board reappointed Greg Casstevens to the Board of Equalization and Review and David Taylor to the Surry County Planning Board for two‑year terms and noted an open vacancy in the central district for the Board of Equalization and Review.
Commissioners also shared community announcements, including recognition of the Mount Airy Rescue Squad’s 65th anniversary and promotion of an upcoming Easter egg hunt at Fisher River Park.
