The Alpine County Board of Supervisors announced March 17 that it has unanimously decided to appoint Sam Booth as county executive officer, contingent on a mutually agreed contract to be approved at a future meeting.
The appointment was announced at the conclusion of closed session and the board indicated the contract terms will be provided to members before the April 7 meeting. Supervisor David Griffith is recorded as making the motion and Supervisor Mesak as seconding it; the board then voted unanimously.
Board members offered brief congratulations. Sam Booth said he was grateful for the appointment and the board’s time, and said he looked forward to working with staff to “achieve our strategic goals.”
The board did not provide final contract terms at the meeting; staff said the item would return to the board for approval when a contract is ready. The appointment is contingent on that future action.
