Chartiers Valley board approves minutes and broad consent agenda, recognizes student winner

At its Jan. 14, 2020 workshop/special action meeting, the Chartiers Valley School District Board approved the Dec. 3, 2019 meeting minutes and a consent agenda that included the Human Resources report, several donations and extracurricular items.
The consent agenda recorded approval of two replacement nettings, one shooter target and $700 from the Chartiers Valley Girls Youth Lacrosse Boosters and a donation from Mathnasium of Mt. Lebanon to the Intermediate School. The board recognized the official formation of the Robotics Boosters and approved the Girls on the Run club. The Middle School Student Council and the Middle School "No Place for Hate" fundraiser were approved. The board also approved girls and boys basketball trips to Florida tournaments and the bill list. The board approved participation in the NRGCS Powerpay Program from June 1, 2020, through May 31, 2021.
Lauren Hawkins, a fifth-grade student, was recognized as the district winter holiday card contest winner; the minutes note she was unable to attend the Dec. 3 meeting. The motion to approve the consent agenda items was moved by Brian Kopec, seconded by Jeff Choura, and passed by unanimous voice vote.
