Chartiers Valley Board President Mark Kuczinski announces he will step down

Mark Kuczinski, president of the Chartiers Valley School District Board of School Directors, announced at the board's Jan. 14, 2020 meeting that he will be stepping down from the board for a personal matter and that the meeting was his final one.
Kuczinski thanked fellow board members and the school administration, saying he could step down "knowing that our District is in wonderful hands with Dr. Vanatta and her incredible administrative team, faculty and staff." He emphasized his decision "has nothing to do with the School District and it is truly personal in nature."
The announcement came during the public-comment portion of the agenda after the board recorded no public comments. Kuczinski used his remarks to celebrate the board's accomplishments and to thank the district for its work toward academic excellence.
The board did not record a vote or further procedural action on filling the seat during the Jan. 14 meeting.
