The Alpine County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted two proclamations at its April 7 meeting.
January Bridal (speaker 21), executive director of Arts and Culture Alpine County, presented a resolution proclaiming April 2026 as Arts, Culture and Creativity Month; the board approved the measure as amended to remove nonstandard capitalization. The executive director said the proclamation recognizes arts as essential public goods and highlights local arts activities.
The board also adopted a resolution declaring April as Child Abuse Prevention Month and agreed to raise a children’s memorial flag for the month. A district attorney’s office representative (speaker 22), speaking as chair of the local Child Abuse Prevention Council, read the resolution and described statewide efforts and tax‑credit proposals to support wildfire resilience and backup power for rural residents during the same update segment.
Both resolutions carried by unanimous voice vote.
