Board unanimously approves Samuel R. Booth’s CEO employment contract

Interim CEO and interim county counsel (speaker 8) told the board the appointment had been made March 17 contingent on contract approval and that the agreement had been negotiated between him and Booth. The board chair called for a motion; speaker 9 moved to approve and speaker 10 seconded. The chair then announced the motion passed unanimously.
The chair publicly read the salary terms required by state law: the contract lists a monthly salary of $18,005.37.
Booth, who later identified himself as the community development director and CEO, thanked the board and residents for the opportunity. “I’m humbled by the opportunity to continue working with the board, our department heads, and staff here at the county,” he said.
Board members offered brief congratulations. The chair noted all supervisors except one were present and wrapped the item after the vote.
The contract and related documents were distributed to the board and made available for public inspection, according to staff. No public commenters were recorded on the contract item prior to the vote.
The board moved on to other business; Booth said he looks forward to participating in ongoing county initiatives in the coming years.
