The Riverside Township Board made the final 2026–27 budget available for public inspection and set a public hearing for May 12 at 6:45 p.m.; assessor warned residents of upcoming exemption and reassessment deadlines.
The Riverside Township Board of Trustees announced the final draft of the 2026–27 township budget will be available for public inspection beginning the morning after the April meeting and scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday, May 12 at 6:45 p.m., to precede the regular board meeting.
Supervisor Wilt said the budget packet now includes updated material from the mental health board and last-minute tax receipts that improved the township’s starting cash position. "Starting tomorrow morning, it will be available for inspection by the public," the supervisor said, asking trustees to identify any corrections at once so the budget can be published.
Assessor Mary Jo Miller urged residents to note key deadlines tied to the county’s reassessment cycle. "The deadline for the senior freeze exemption is next Tuesday, April 21. The disabled veterans exemption is due April 28," Miller said, adding the county’s triennial reassessment notices are tentatively scheduled to be mailed Monday, April 20.
The board did not take formal action to adopt the budget at the meeting; it set the public inspection period and hearing to collect comment and any corrections before a final decision. The hearing will occur at the township building ahead of the May 12 board meeting.
