Lewis County affirms Façade & Streetscape Improvement Program, reports ARPA-funded awards and partnerships

Buell reported strong community response: 17 projects funded in Round 1, 10 in Round 2 and eight in Round 3. She said recent awards included $174,000 distributed to four projects from 11 applications in a recent round; cumulative applications reviewed exceeded $933,000. Buell noted coordination with the Lewis County Historical Society and Naturally Lewis to ensure projects meet historical standards and said additional awards are expected in February. The committee moved Draft Resolution No. 17 to the full Board to affirm continued program support and acknowledge use of rolled-over budgeted and ARPA funds through Round 5; the motion passed on a committee vote of 5–0.
The presentation emphasized preservation of historical character as an eligibility criterion for the matching grants and the 12-month completion requirement for awards.
