Lewis County Finance & Rules Committee forwards 17 draft resolutions to full Board, including hazard mitigation and infrastructure grants

The Lewis County Finance & Rules Committee unanimously forwarded 17 draft resolutions to the full Board of Legislators during its Jan. 20 meeting.

Items sent to the full Board included: appointments to advisory bodies (ANCA representative Joanne Witt and a Republican Ethics Board appointment for Richard Chartrand); adoption of an updated Hazard Mitigation Plan; authorization of a broadband infrastructure agreement with Adirondack Techs in the Town of Diana; multiple grant applications (up to $500,000 under NYS Department of State Local Government Efficiency Grant Program; up to $500,000 under the Empire State Development County Infrastructure Program for the Village of Port Leyden; up to $3,000,000 under the Northern Border Regional Commission (NBRC) Catalyst Program for Port Leyden projects; Transportation Alternatives Program applications for complete streets); designation of the Planning Director as certifying officer for CDBG housing and planning grants and an agreement with Snow Belt Housing Company; an amendment to an IMA with the Town of New Bremen to include reimbursement for emergency bridge repairs from 2024 flooding; establishment of standard work day reporting for certain officials; and formation/appointments to a Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee and a Fair Housing Task Force. Draft Resolution No. 17, affirming continued support for the Façade & Streetscape Improvement Program, was also forwarded.

All motions to forward the drafts were made by Chair Jessica Moser and seconded by committee members (seconds varied by item). Each motion passed on recorded votes of AYE 5, NAY 0, with no recuses or abstentions recorded in the committee minutes. The committee did not record substantive debate on most items during this session; materials for the full Board will provide the detailed resolutions and attachments.
