Council accepts completion of Southeast Gateway street project

The Susanville City Council voted unanimously to accept the Southeast Gateway project as complete and to authorize the acting public works director to issue a notice of completion to the contractor. Acting public works director Eric Eddholm told the council the city contracted with SD Roads for the project in the amount of $2,194,000 and that construction activities were recently completed and punch‑list items addressed.
Eddholm described the Gateway Project as curb, gutter, sidewalk and streetscape improvements on Main Street and said completion fills missing sidewalk segments and was funded through state (Caltrans) and related federal sources; staff said the project did not impose net city costs under the grant arrangement. Council members thanked staff and contractors for finishing a long-running project.
The council approved acceptance and issuance of notice of completion by unanimous vote.
