The Fountain Green City Planning Commission voted April 9 to approve an amended subdivision plat for the Big Spring subdivision submitted for Kyle Johansson.
Chair/staff (S1) explained the amendment had been reviewed with the county recorder and is ready to be recorded pending signatures from the mayor, land‑use authority and staff. S1 said, “It is now all done according to the state code… and it is now ready to be recorded.” Commissioners confirmed they needed a motion to approve the amended subdivision plat and on motion and second the commission approved it.
Commissioners also discussed administrative details for recordation: signatures required from the mayor, land use authority and staff, and whether developers or the city should pay county fees (Sunrise). Commissioners expressed a preference that the city pay Sunrise and then bill the developer to keep an arms‑length process and avoid perceived conflicts of interest between developers and the land‑use authority.
Staff was directed to obtain the required signatures and ensure the city or developer fee procedure is clarified before final recording with the county.
