The Josephine County Board of Commissioners agreed on April 2 to place sale documents for county property at 210 Tacoma on the April 8 Weekly Business Session agenda after staff reported the buyer requested an expedited closing.
Property Manager Helene Lulich said staff is working to finalize documentation and that, if all papers are ready, the sale item will be scheduled for April 8; otherwise it will be carried to the next available meeting. Legal Counsel Wally Hicks advised the Board that the Board Order and deed should be signed by the full Board but that designating a single authorized signatory for other closing documents would be more efficient.
Commissioner Colene Martin moved to move the sale documents to the April 8 meeting and to designate Chair Ron Smith as the signatory for closing documents; Commissioner Gary Richardson seconded. Upon roll call the motion carried 3-0.
Staff said they will return the matter to the Board on April 8 if all documents are completed; otherwise the item will be scheduled at the next available meeting.
