Jordan McGee, a planner with the agency, described a proposed realignment of Route 2 that would extend service farther along Springdale Road to close a longstanding gap and better connect Eastside Bus Plaza, downtown and several East Austin neighborhoods. Staff also proposed shifting Route 217 from Montopolis Drive to Vargas Road to directly serve Allison Elementary, Idea Montopolis Academy and neighborhood destinations, while reducing the route's frequency to every 40 minutes to preserve resources.
