Soltis said work at Bonsack Elementary will replace worn carpet pending a third quote and that Herman Lehi has completed carpet replacement. Northside High School is converting science classrooms to family and consumer sciences and demolition and construction have already started; Soltis said the school's carpenters, electricians and plumbers are performing much of the labor and estimated early September completion for some projects.
At Hidden Valley Middle School, Soltis said the division plans to replace ceilings in public areas and install LED lighting; staff are collecting bids and may stage the work in small sections over the school year or delay until next summer to avoid disrupting instruction. Soltis also reported the Northside High stadium roof work is complete and restroom renovations are underway, and that risers for a high-school music program have been ordered with a projected delivery date of Aug. 14.
On athletics infrastructure, Soltis said engineers are under contract to regrade Cave Spring Middle School's softball field, with professional documents expected in about eight weeks and a preliminary target to have the field ready for the 2027 softball season. He also discussed contractor selection and contracting steps for Hidden Valley High's artificial turf at Bruce Mayfield and said permitting and construction scheduling would follow contract finalization.
Board members praised facilities staff and asked clarifying questions about staffing; Soltis noted the division uses in-house carpenters and trades staff for numerous projects and said leadership will explore restoring a vacant carpenter position to speed work. No formal action was taken; these items were presented as informational updates.
