Presenters said Christian Letcher placed in the top nine at the DECA State Leadership Conference and qualified for the DECA International Career Development Conference — only the second Mecklenburg student in 20 years to do so. Marissa Davis also qualified for DECA International as a top role‑play finisher in restaurant and food‑service management. The DECA program and career‑readiness sponsors were named.
At the state Beta convention the district reported five first‑place state champions across categories including biomedical health and agriscience, and students received leadership scholarships. Athletes recognized included a regional wrestling champion and state runner‑up who has committed to wrestle at a Division‑I college, regional track qualifiers and players who earned all‑district honors. In fine arts, siblings Emily and Molly Beal were selected for All‑Virginia Band and Orchestra.
Coaches and sponsors were thanked by name and the board applauded the achievements. Presenters encouraged board members and the public to attend upcoming student performances and competitions.
