The Scott County School Board approved several personnel and routine business items at its Oct. 7 meeting.
Assistant Superintendent Jason Smith presented personnel items. The board approved resignations of two employees: Frank Taylor (bus driver) and Teresa Vermillion (cook). The board approved employment of multiple staff, including Veronica Layne (part-time administrative assistant), Alisha Osborne (cook), Greg Austin (custodian), Stephanie Thompson (bus aide) and a set of middle school coaches; the minutes record that the employment motion passed with Mr. Rob Hood abstaining on that vote. The board also approved substitute lists and accepted two terminations that were recommended by staff.
The board approved an overnight field trip for Twin Springs High School and Rye Cove High School FCCLA delegates to the FCCLA Capital Leadership Conference, Nov. 15'19, 2025. The board also approved an update to the coaching-supplement salary scale as presented by staff.
The meeting packet included a presentation of the 2025-2026 student-classroom teacher ratio based on 10-day enrollment; the information was presented to the board and entered into the record. With no further business the board adjourned at 8:11 p.m.; the clerk recorded the meeting signatures.
