An acoustic specialist is working on material and ceiling‑height solutions; Kramer and the architect team said they will use higher ceiling heights, acoustic matting and treatment panels, and a hallway buffer to reduce sound transfer.
Jason said the addition is outside most of the existing footprint so much of that work can occur with minimal interior disruption; however, some temporary reassignments of drama/choral space are expected during the heavy renovation. He estimated that, if everything moves according to plan, the project could be completed by early 2028, but cautioned dates may shift based on permitting and final contract timing.
Board members asked about noise transfer to the library, temporary space for classes during construction and the total estimated cost; staff said they will provide updated cost numbers and refined timeline details in forthcoming memos.
No formal action was taken; staff offered to share the presentation and cost estimates with the full board and to provide additional details for upcoming budget and joint‑work sessions.
