The Cobb County School District Board of Education voted unanimously, 7-0, on Sept. 18 to approve a local governance training plan that the district must submit to the Georgia Department of Education by Sept. 30, 2025.
The board chair moved to approve the plan and said the plan satisfies the annual requirement that the local board submit a training plan to the Georgia Department of Education. The chair said the plan provides six hours of individual training for veteran board members (available through GSBA pre-conference, online, or other training) and three hours of whole-board governance training to be scheduled with board counsel.
The chair noted he had received a second from Mister Cristadouro and, after no discussion, counted raised hands for those in favor. He recorded the vote as 7 in favor, none opposed.
