Daryl York explained the change grew from curriculum pathways that use animals as instructional material and said academics "has already started that process, they are ready to roll that out," meaning permission slips, principal and district approval processes and documentation for teachers will be provided through academics rather than as policy hyperlinks on the website.
Board member Miss Sailor asked whether staff would provide forms or modeling guidance; York said academics will deliver the materials and teachers will have easy access to follow the new rule. The board did not take final action on the rule during the work session.
