The Cobb County School District Board of Education on Sept. 18 was asked to certify and authorize submission of the FY 2027 Georgia State Capital Outlay Project application, which staff said could yield up to $13,130,440 in state reimbursement depending on project costs.
Mark Smith, representing the SPLOST department, told the board that "the Georgia State Department of Education will reimburse the Cobb County School District up to $13,130,440" and that the department requires the board to certify and authorize the chair and superintendent to execute the application.
Smith said approval of the resolution would allow the district to comply with state requirements and move forward at no cost to the district. The chair asked for questions and, hearing none, placed the resolution on the consent agenda for formal consideration at the regular meeting.
