Freeburg trustees approve UnitedHealthcare coverage, back county park grants and appoint administrator to IMEA board

The Freeburg Village Board on Oct. 20 adopted three resolutions and an ordinance and received reports on utilities and public works.
The board voted to accept a UnitedHealthcare insurance plan under Resolution #25-17. Trustee Ramon Matchett Jr. moved adoption by title; Trustee Elizabeth (Lisa) Meehling seconded and roll call recorded six ayes. Village Administrator Matt Trout explained employees will be able to choose between the UHC Renewal Choice+ Plan and the CORE Plan; the premium difference will go into employees’ health savings accounts (HSAs). Retirees may continue to choose either plan with the HSA option, but the village will no longer provide deductible reimbursements.
The board also adopted Resolution #25-18 expressing support for St. Clair County park grant applications. Trustee Ramon Matchett Jr. moved adoption and Trustee Dana Miller seconded; roll call was unanimous.
In a separate ordinance, the board adopted Ordinance #1805 to appoint Village Administrator Matt Trout to the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) Board of Directors. Trustee James (Mike) Blaies moved adoption by title and Trustee Elizabeth (Lisa) Meehling seconded; roll call was unanimous.
